简介
We are very proud of this album and hope you will like it. We, Kay and Ragnhild have done all the recordings and mixing ourself and managed to turn our house in the forest in to a recording studio for a couple of weeks. The songs on this album is a combination of love songs for Kay Skogheim, Ragnhild's husband and band member, political, love and science fictions inspired by the tv-series and movies Continuum, Fringe, Peaky Blinders, Star Trek and Gravity. There are also one song written for the town council of Oppegård where Ragnhild was an elected councilor, and a song about refugee and asylum seeker policies. This is The Bee's Niece's third album, and the first one recorded in Norway. Ragnhild Zeigler and Kay Skogheim recorded this album at home in their logged cabin far out in the forest in Vestfold. There is a 1.5 kilometer walk from the car, so all equipment had to be carried, the album was recorded using both solar power and petrol generator. The background sounds on this album include cats, chickens, cows, rain on the roof, and sparks from the wood fire stoves. Ragnhild Zeigler has written all the songs performed by The Bee's Niece, she also sing, plays guitar and musical saw. Kay Skogheim plays lap steel guitar and bass. Nicolai Sverdrup Due plays drums, Vivi Winther-Fossmo plays trumpet, Erik Bentsen plays saxophone and Jon Zeigler plays guitar on Lessons from Continuum. On Passe oss for trikken (watch out for the tram) Roger Amundsen plays piano, Torbjørn Holte plays bass, Åse Ava Fredheim sings harmonies, Espen Fladmoe Wolmer plays drums, Claes Hirth plays guitar and drums and recorded and produced the song Passe oss for trikken. The song Du og jeg vi danser (you and me we're dancing) was recorded and produced by Tobias Eide Larsen. On this song the additional musicians were Ellen Brekken on Tuba and Tobias Eide on ukulele and electric guitar. The Album cover was painted by Cholpon and Kalisa, two woofers who were visiting us from Kirgisistan. Thank you so much for making the artwork on the wall of the stables!
