You have to clean up and put things away before you can take out new things to play with! This is perhaps something many of us remember being told by our parents when we were growing up, but is it really possible to run a band and a record company like that? That’s at least what Camilla Jonasson thinks, being the main attraction in DONKEYSHOT, and running the record company Bensin Records in Malmo. Now, when stocks of DONKEYSHOT’s debut album A Real Life Travel Rep, highly praised by the critics, are starting to run short, it’s time to release the band’s second album, En Route From Reality. Like on the first record, front figure and song writer Camilla Jonasson continues the theme of travelling through life, describing ordinary, everyday happenings in her bitter-sweet lyrics filled with kitchen sink romance. But En Route From Reality also works as an escape from reality, and encourages day-dreaming, which the last song on the record, Real Life, gives proof of. If I was in a cartoon I would always fit into my jeans but since I am in real life they sometimes seem to shrink This record, En Route From Reality, is recorded in Camilla Jonasson’s own studio in Malmo, just like the first album. She is sharing the studio with Anders Nordgren, who’s the sound engineer and producer of the album, and also the guitarist in the band. The debut album, A Real Life Travel Rep, was well received by press and public alike. It was for example named one of the best records of 2005 in the morning paper Sydsvenska Dagbladet. Since then DONKEYSHOT have been busy gigging away on the city stages, but they’ve also been out playing in other places in the south of Sweden. The single Rubber Boots, included on the album, reached nr. 25 on the national radio P3 single chart when it was released in 2006. DONKEYSHOT is Camilla Jonasson - vocals Sofie Gustavsson – backing vocals Anders Nordgren - guitar & backing vocals Thomas Jonasson – bass guitar Niclas Andersson – drums Ronald Wijchers – keyboards.
