Background of Marking Time Release: This project "Marking Time" came from rehearsal recordings made during a songwriting session in Nashville, TN on October 25, 2005. Nashville session drummer Dion Clay was on the date. After the initial session a few takes were chosen, and a few minor vocal overdubs were done. The songs were then mixed, mastered, and released warts and all. The only exception being the Track "Devil's Child" which came out of a 1996 recording session at Be-Bop Studios in Rockville, MD. Steven Charles Cecil is a keyboard player with a background in the blues tradition. He has performed with blues musicians such as Bobby Parker (Black Top Records), Sherman Robertson (Atlantic Records-Code Blue), the late great Little Jimmy King (Rounder Records),Lex Grey and the Urban Pioneers(indie artist Brooklyn,NY), and Albert Storo and the Soul Hustlers (indie Artist Houston,TX).
