I'd never heard of a "proper companion" let alone thought of myself as one, at least not until the guy I was dating called me that. I felt such a unique designation deserved to be the title of a song and so I wrote one, in the spirit of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain". Over the past several months, I have been moved by many events happening in our country and in our world. "Stay" was inspired by the determination of people fighting for the right to love and marry whom they choose. Ultimately, no matter what we look like, we all have the same basic desires which are to live our lives and love our families. That's the message in "Everybody Wants The Same Thing". "Feeling Coy" is a dedication to my angel mother Coydella, who to this day inspires me to be a relentless mother to my children. And sometimes I just write about love because I'm a daydreamer who believes in unicorns and the magic of fairy dust.
