The album is a compilation of songs previously recorded and released only in Japan, with the exception of "A Song For My Father"; which makes its debut in this collection. For years, fans, family and friends have been requesting to buy 14K's music, but it was unavailable outside of Japan at a reasonable price. This is what inspired this latest release out of the band's own studio and on their own label, Little City Music. We constantly get letters, faxes and emails from fans and friends explaining their situations and how 14 Karat Soul's music makes such a positive difference in their lives. Some of their situations are very similar. Some are rather unique. They range from getting through their studies for school, to wondering if they will ever realize their dreams, to coping with the pain of sickness and death in their families. So many have written and told of times they were depressed, for one reason or another, and how listening to our music made them happy; made them believe in themselves; gave them the strength they needed to keep going. This makes all the hard work we put into making our music worth it, because this is what our music is about... making people feel good... making people happy. Some of their credits include U.S. and European tours (including a five month U.S. tour with The Stray Cats and a European tour with Whitney Houston); two off-broadway plays (Sister Suzie Cinema and Gospel At Colonus), produced by Joseph Papp, written and directed by Lee Breuer, and music by Bob "Otis" Telson; radio and television performances in the U.S., Europe and Japan; various film work, including "Alphabet City" and an HBO Movie, "Tracy Ullman Takes On New York"; a host of U.S. commercials for "Roy Rogers", "McDonald's", and "3 Musketeers"; three appearances on NBC's "Saturday Night Live"; and were featured in Sesame Street's Emmy Award Winning Movie, "Elmo Saves Christmas".
