Sheen (May 8, 1895 – December 9, 1979) was considered by many to be the greatest preacher of the twentieth century. Indeed, he was a true pioneer in religious broadcasting. From 1952 until 1957, then Bishop Sheen, discussed the moral issues of the day, in an inspirational American television series, telecast nationwide, Life is Worth Living. Prior to the advent of television, Bishop Sheen pioneered religious broadcasting on radio with a program titled The Catholic Hour during the years of 1928 to 1952.
