ABOUT THE AUTHOR Declared to have lived a life of heroic virtues and earning the title of venerable by Pope Benedict XVI on June 28, 2012, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (May 8, 1895 – December 9, 1979) was considered by many to be the greatest preacher of the twentieth century. Indeed, he was a true pioneer in religious broadcasting. From 1952 until 1957, then Bishop Sheen, discussed the moral issues of the day, in an inspirational American television series, telecast nationwide, Life is Worth Living. Prior to the advent of television, Bishop Sheen pioneered religious broadcasting on radio with a program titled The Catholic Hour during the years of 1928 to 1952.
