In his latest solo effort, Matt Mylroie draws on his roots, combining a gritty rock rhythm with a country-tinged lead guitar and weaving in the bluesy and twangy sounds of a slide guitar. The "roots" approach to this track spills over into the production techniques also; there is no amp modeling, just real guitars, real tube amps, real microphones (including ribbons and tubes), and the warm sound of transformer based preamps. The track was mixed on an analog console, using outboard gear. The modern world is still represented in the production, as Matt recorded using high resolution digital recording equipment. Drum and pedal steel guitar samples (arranged by Matt) were also used. No plugins were used on the mix, with the exception of a simulated stompbox on the rhythm track, midway through the song and again at the end. The Mastering was done "in the box" using plugins from Waves and Slate Digital.
