简介

Charles Ecker has a sold standard gift for matching well-crafted lyrics to memorable melodies. And you will hear this in the first full words and music L.P. from The C.R. Ecker Band, which cut its teeth on the national scene in the Summer of 2011 with a spectacular billboard lighting ceremony in New York's Times Square! Originally from Upstate New York, and now a long-time Los Angeles songwriter, Ecker started his walk along the music trail as a member of The Los Angeles Songwriter's Showcase, and was mentored by some of the brightest music minds in the business, including Sam Brown, formerly Michael Jackson's songwriting coach. It all shows up in the delightful songs Ecker has crafted while leading The C.R. Ecker Band to 18 citations, including an L.A. Music Award, Hollywood Music in Media and Akademia wins. Add to that being named to the Starliners Europe "Hall of Fame,"over 50 positive media reviews and other favorable benchmarks of recognition. Akademia winner and HMiM niominee"No Turnin' Back leads this playlist sung by Michael Stanton fast forward and flowing, backed by some lush 32-track instrumentation including a delightful underpinnng by legendary keyboardist David Morgan who was a member of Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band for many years. Included on the L.P. is Ecker's 'signature song,' "Your Smile Says it All," sung with tenderness and emotion by Stanton, harkening back to the original "Pop" version Ecker penned nearly 30 years ago as a wedding present to his wife, Linda. In this country casting, the singer conveys how much his woman's smile speaks to him, with a melody that is so unforgettable that London's Splashradio deemed it an "instant classic" after its first play in Europe. This song is followed by Amber Rose seemingly tearing the mike from the stand with the brash and sassy "Whisper Sweet Nothins," a song that captured the 2013 multi-genre "Song of the Year" award at Starliner's Europe (The Starliners Radio Network) and the first band #1 song at The Independent Music Network's Top 30 Country Countdown. In this tune, she tells the boys to sit down and listen up as she sasses them in this "anthem of the unappreciated woman" as one reviewer described it. Another said it represented "country music with a feminist bent!" Another jewel in this collection is the haunting love song, "When God Created You," a long-time fixture on Internet country music giant Renegade Radio Nashville's playlist, which brought the band into its inaugural "New Faces of Country" stable in early 2012. Again, Stanton signs lead with steel guitar stylings by noted L.A. musician Dave Perlman. The theme of deep emotion continues, in a different way, with a song about regret, with Stanton's soft yet masculine voice conveying the lament felt by a man who wishes his lover would, or could, return to him. What he simply asks is for "One More Night with You." Then what follows is about a man wandering to the other side of the fence, realizing his mistakes, then coming back to the woman in his life because "Our Fence Needs Mendin'. Here, Stanton''s virtuoso vocal abilities remain strong and steady at center stage. Added to the mix are two of the band's first tunes, beginning with "California Cowboy,' written by Ecker to poke fun at his new hometown, L.A., , and his simply stated "Bushwacked Song,' a lament on the continuing economic malaise in America, originally penned over 20 years ago but even more cogent today! All but three songs in this playlist are entirely his own creations, with Stanton co-writing two -- "No Turnin' Back" and "One More Night with You," and Nashville vets Dann Rogers and Phil Earhart joining in with some lyric contributions on "My White Collar (Makes My Redneck Itch)." "Down the Back 40: Risin' Sun" represents a collection of what are sure to be classics that come from the heartland soul of the man nicknamed "The California Cowboy" and each and every one stands out musically with a distinct verve and flair that sets each apart from one another! There are no album 'cuts' in this album packed with gems, only hits already charted on over 1,000 radio stations globally, a testament to The C.R. Ecker Band motto - "Made in America and Heard 'Round the World!"
