I've always enjoyed writing pop music that has a little humor in it. Enough of all the sadness and anxiety! On "Could Be Love" I tapped the considerable vocal character genius of my friend George Stapleford who provided a wonderful Wicked Witch cartoon voice that cackles through out the song. Calvin Law gave me a wonderful performance on his 1970's clavinet and I added a "Motown" trio to fill out the arrangement. Phil Davis added his Moog synthesizer special effects. Mike Jepsen performed on drums and I did all the other instruments and vocals. It seems that humorous Pop tunes are a rarity nowadays, something that was quite common when AM radio was king. Perhaps "Could Be Love" is a throwback to those days, but hey, why not?
