ALAN G. returns with his 8th album release, EXILE EXTENDED! EXILE EXTENDED consists of six amazing remixes of songs from the album EXILE, which tells the continuing story of Billy, a gay teen who has grown up in the southern U.S. Having endured discrimination and hatred in his hometown, Billy runs away - and heads to the big city in the hopes of something better. “The stories of Billy - and all LGBT kids on the street are such difficult ones,” says Alan. “The remixes of these songs from Exile were intended to add more dramatic sounds and more power to these stories. I hope we can continue to honor those real lives with an even more realistic and heightened emotion in the music.” EXILE EXTENDED opens with the remix of “THE BOY WITH THE BOOTS ON” - retelling the story of searching for lost love with a new and epic sound. “In the end, Billy’s story is always a search for love,” continues Alan. “Despite all that has happened and all the pain he is enduring, there is still one thing that he holds true in his heart.” “UNAFRAID” also makes a reappearance on the remix album. “It was so important that this song was re-introduced,” explains Alan. “As the LGBT civil rights movement continues to move with both inspiring advances and dangerous setbacks, the power of coming out is even more important. Those who can live bravely - unafraid - are the ones to whom we are passing the torch in this struggle.” Also included in EXILE EXTENDED are remixes of the independence anthem “I WILL STAND WITHOUT YOU”, the lament of religious persecution in “CRUCIFIED”, the move-on-and-move-forward themes of “GOODBYE”, and “TIME’S UP”, the reminder that our time on earth is short. Reimagined and remixed by Tony Rodini, EXILE EXTENDED recreates the themes of EXILE with more emotion, more intensity, and an epic quality that is appropriate considering the urgency and weight of these stories. In Alan’s new album, he continues to explore his writing and voice as an openly-gay artist. “It was very important to me that the songs and themes of Exile would continue to find their way into the world… I hope the messages in both albums will speak to people - especially young LGBT people - as well as those who are exiled and marginalized by the world. I want these songs to continue to help us remember that they need us - and to tell those in exile they are not forgotten, they are not alone…” “There is still so much work for us to do,” continues Alan. “LGBT homeless youth have lives that are frighteningly difficult and painful. I hope that the stories contained in EXILE and EXILE EXTENDED will remind us that we can each do something to help those who live in the margins - those who are pushed away by the world…. Because they all deserve the opportunity to come out of Exile…” ALAN G’s new album, EXILE EXTENDED - Available now!
