"Visual Sound' is a collection of some of Roberts' most beautiful electronic compositions. The album was originally prepared to compliment and react with paintings in an art exhibition featuring 18 paintings by visual artist Caroline Deeble. Not surprisingly, this music is visually moody, imaginative and evocative. The flavors of this musical collection are typically gentle but clear and optimistic and is beautifully layered with rich electronic textures and beautiful rhythmic undercurrents. Once again, the musical influences of Vangelis, Mike Oldfield, Kraftwork and Tangerine Dream can all be clearly heard in Roberts' music, but equally clear is the now certainty of Roberts' genuine talent and identity as an Australian electro-acoustic composer of merit and originality in his own right.
