"Shadows and Critters" is my 10th. album and is a solo adventure for me.I have used "the 4 'C's" for the musical inspiration: Cape Cod, Cats and Celtic. My two cats each have a song written for them and share the album title. Other "catly songs on the album are "Catnip" and "Ohio's Home", a song about the "mayor of the north end of Provincetown". The Cape Cod towns of Orleans, Wellfleet and Provincetown are represented. The Irish/Celtic side of things has a sometimes humorous touch with songs like "The Funky Leprechaun" and "O'Carolyn's Lament/ The Drafty Jig" and "Ceridwen" for a more serious touch. The songs are memorable, easily enjoyed time and again and offer a great variety of styles in one album. If you like hammered dulcimer, you'll like this! I am a lifelong musician, music teacher of 32 years and world-known stained glass artist. I love mixing the sounds of hammered dulcimer, Celtic harp, guitars, mandocello, well.. anything that has strings along with synthesizers and wind instruments. My folk, Irish and New Age roots are always showing and I like to give the listener a great mix of styles and moods. I do most of my writing and recording in both New Jersey and on Cape Cod and normally work with my partner, Susan Catona.
