Estival, released on the summer solstice June 21st 2015 is the second in a series of textural ambient albums from sunstrom sound. Estival toasts the earth, basking in the radiance of the sun at its most direct. Longer days melt time into warm nights as plants stretch and ascend to maximize peak exposure. The music soaks with warm harmonic drones. Melodies climb, spatter and peek through placid beds of percolating synthetic texture. Recorded live to 2 track at the Cabana, Seattle WA. A table of synthesizers, samplers and effects make up the physical instrument that creates sunstrom sound. The music is created on the eve of final capture; discovered, performed, arranged, mixed and recorded finally. Being without revision, the process allows the music to remain alive and transparent. Disappearing into the background, the music evokes mood and nature, bending and stretching time and the perception of surroundings. Naturegaze.
