简介
Recorded April 30, 2011 Inspiration comes in various forms. Sometimes I am cruising down the road and a song comes to me. Most of the time I forget these but once in a blue moon one these tunes will become ingrained in my brain. Other times I will be sitting in the Brad Cave, strum a few chords and a song is magically created. Of course, some songs are inspired by an event of elation or pure frustration. “Not the One” was quickly written and recorded after an exasperating episode of domestic communication. I am not going to get into the details. I’ll let the lyrics speak for themselves. Please remember this a live recording. There are no retakes or corrections, what you hear is what was really happening on that very day in the Brad Cave. Over the years I have realized the only person you can changes is yourself. Friends, family and others you connect with should accept you for who you are. In contrast, you should accept all people as they are. To me this song reminds us that we cannot be all thing to all people. I am what I am and I am who I am. At this time in my music career, I was the Sales and Marketing Director for startup MI company and playing Bass with TupperFord. Bob Tupper and John Ford are incredibly gifted song writers and I felt compelled to produce a work that would be in same caliber as them. This tune is probably not in the same league but I am who I am and I am what I am. On April 30, 2011, I locked the door to the Brad Cave tuned the high “E” on my White Glen Burton 204CE acoustic to “D”. A few minutes later I had the song written. I plug the guitar into my Korg D1600 and laid down the guitar, vocal, bass, and percussion tracks in one take. This is an Artist cut of “Not the One” and the mistakes on this performance are included at no extra charge.
