‘Music Sculptures’ is a global musical journey for enjoyment, filmmakers and musical travellers. The 50 tracks, drawing from previous albums and screen compositions, connect and flow into each other with a multitude of instruments, sound textures, rhythms and melodies. Passionate,subtle and exotic themes draw inspiration from Australia to Indonesia, Japan, India, Africa,USA and the Middle East conveying contrasting emotional and visual cues. The moods, instrumentation and times are clearly set out in the sleeve notes. The album is a resource for filmmakers, music & sound libraries, restaurants, hotels, airlines, institutions and advertisements. The album is dedicated to people who value freedom, awareness, humour, cultural diversity, ecological integrity and creativity. Peter Westheimer has composed music for 6 albums, two feature films, many television documentaries, theatre, art installations and acclaimed video clips all available for viewing from his website or you tube etc. Peter Westheimer's music covers many genres from world fusion to electronic ,ambient/chill , classical [both Eastern and western] and new wave. He uses music software, keyboards, guitar and vocals to produce his works, having performed in bands , on sitar, violin in the Australian Youth Orchestra and as an actor. His latest album Tranzworld Express released in 2011 includes dance and house genres. His CD Balance [1994] and Transition [1992] were released successfully in Australia, Japan and the USA. For Transition each music track was accompanied by a painting highlighting a world in transition and dedicated to positive change and optimism. The paintings featured in the USA publication 'Musicians As Artists', an international collection of visual art by contemporary musicians including Miles Davis, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Ringo Starr and Carly Simon. Previous releases include the Laminex Lovers EP 1983 [with charting tracks], Move LP 1985 [including the 'Move' animated videoclip acclaimed in Australia's top 10 for the year] and Sooner Than Laughter LP 1987 [with successful videoclip for the track 'State of Summer']. He continues to be involved with progressive cultural, political and environmental projects.
