简介

Transition is a global musical journey. Strong, playful and subtle themes interweave drawing inspiration from Australia to Indonesia, Japan, India, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Contrasting often uplifting, emotional and visual like cues make the music very listenable as well as very filmic. On the CD sleeve each music track is accompanied by a painting and notes in English, French, Japanese and Spanish highlighting a world in transition and dedicated to positive change and optimism. A selection of these paintings feature in the USA publication 'Musicians As Artists', an international collection of visual art by contemporary musicians including Miles Davis, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Ringo Starr and Carly Simon. The album has been used by filmmakers, music & sound libraries and airlines. Peter Westheimer has composed music for 5 albums, two feature films, many television documentaries, theatre, art installations and acclaimed video clips. He combines many genres of music from World Music to Electronic to Soundtrack to Ambient/Classical[both Eastern and Western]. He uses music software, keyboards, electric guitar and vocals to record and produce most of his works having performed previously in band ,on sitar, and violin in the Australian Youth Orchestra. Transition [with videoclip to the track 'Big Living']and the following CD Balance [1994] were released successfully in Australia, Japan and the USA. Previous releases by Peter Westheimer include the Laminex Lovers EP 1983 [with charting tracks], Move LP 1985 [including the 'Move' animated videoclip acclaimed in Australia's top 10 for the year] and Sooner Than Laughter LP 1987 [with successful videoclip for the track 'State of Summer']. His latest release is Music Sculptures [2004] for pleasure, filmmakers and musical travellers. The 50 tracks, drawing from previous albums and screen compositions, connect and flow into each other with a multitude of instruments, sound textures, rhythms and melodies. The moods, instrumentation and track times are clearly set out in the sleeve notes. He continues to be involved with progressive cultural, political and environmental projects.
